Day Texts and Day Resources
Day Texts are the introduction, lectionary readings, and worship texts (Prayer of the Day, Gospel Acclamation, etc.) for a given lectionary day, while Day Resources are ideas and short essays to help you interpret the day’s readings and plan and enrich a worship service.
Under Day Texts, the Home page displays the introduction to the day, reading citations, and short reading descriptions for the day in the Lectionary Banner, while under Day Resources, the page shows an overview essay for the day. These excerpts can be revealed and hidden by using the blue circle to the left of the heading. To see the day’s entire Day Texts or Day Resources content, click the “Read in full” to the right of the heading.
Clicking the “Read in full” link takes you to the Day Texts and Day Resources page, where you can switch between the two by using the tabs at the top of the main content area. Click a citation in the box on the left to see the entire text of a reading in an overlay window—the reading texts also appear in the main content area of the page under the Day Texts tab. Clicking the “Download this content” link creates and downloads a text file of the content under the currently selected tab.
